It’s general practice care tailored to kids, covering everything from check-ups and immunisations to managing illness, supporting development and addressing behavioural or mental health concerns. Our doctors take a whole-of-family approach, so you can bring up any concern, big or small.
Children of any age, from newborns through to teenagers. Many of our doctors see whole families, so siblings and parents can be cared for by the same GP over time.
Depending on what’s needed, a children’s health consultation might include a physical examination, discussion of symptoms or concerns, immunisations, growth and development checks, referrals to specialists or allied health, medical certificates or a management plan for an ongoing condition.
Standard appointments are typically 15 minutes. If you’re raising a more complex concern, such as behavioural, developmental or mental health issues, let our reception team know when booking so we can allow extra time.

Yes, Medicare rebates apply to standard GP consultations. Some services, such as longer assessments for developmental concerns, may also attract specific Medicare items. Our team can advise what applies to your child’s visit.
Most of our GPs are experienced in children’s health and family medicine. If your child has an ongoing relationship with a particular doctor, we recommend booking with them for continuity of care.
We’ll always try to get your child seen as soon as possible. If your regular doctor isn’t available, our reception team can suggest another GP at the practice who can help, particularly for urgent concerns.

Flynns Beach Medical Centre is situated within the Flynns Beach shopping precinct on Pacific Drive, directly opposite one of Port Macquarie’s most popular beaches. Bus route 322 stops right outside the clinic, and a pharmacy is located next door, making it simple to attend to your healthcare needs in one visit.
The Health Centre is in the Town Beach precinct, close to radiology, pathology and dental services. Located just outside the CBD on Lord Street, it is easily accessible from all directions. Off-street parking is available, and public transport services operate nearby for added convenience.
